Girls Basketball: Eagles fly past Spring Valley

Pepin-Alma head girls basketball coach Larry Grisen said the Eagles wanted to focus on pushing the tempo against Spring Valley Monday in Alma and it led to a 76-48 victory.

Senior Sophia Reidt led Pepin-Alma (12-4, 8-2 Dairyland-Small) with 19 points and junior Ali Murray added 16 points. Senior Molly Grisen finished with 15 points, 12 of them coming in the first quarter.

“We went into the game wanting to emphasize our transition,” Larry Grisen said. “That was how Molly was able to get her points (in the first quarter).”

The Eagles led 41-22 at halftime and made 14 of 28 free throws.

Spring Valley had three players score in double figures. Emma Gustad and Breanna Colbenson scored 11 points and Leah Jameson tallied 10 points.

Pepin-Alma hosts Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran Friday in Alma.
