Turnovers slowed the Pepin-Alma boys basketball team in a 54-36 loss to Gilmanton Thursday in Alma.
The Eagles (4-11, 3-7 Dairyland-Small) committed 27 turnovers and were outscored 32-16 in the second half.
Junior Cole Carroll led Pepin-Alma with 12 points and sophomore Charlie Raethke finished with six point and nine rebounds.
Devin Oesau scored 13 points to lead Gilmanton and Zach Urness added 12 points.
The Eagles trailed 22-20 at halftime but took poor care of the basketball in the second half and that led to the loss, Pepin-Alma head coach Loren Mueller said.
“We were very sloppy with the ball,” he said. “They turned up their defense and we didn’t respond.”
Pepin-Alma hosts Spring Valley Saturday in Pepin.
