Submarine launch

The Yellow Submarine will be in the lap pool from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. Monday Jan. 30.

Pepin and pizza

Open to all kids and parents who are interested in learning what’s planned for summer camp 2012, Camp Pepin pizza night will feature slides from 2011, food and a chance to meet the new director. Call Joetta Oien at the Red Wing Family YMCA to reserve your spot.

Pool kayaking

The Red Wing Family YMCA has a new fleet of whitewater kayaks to fit all sizes. Participants will learn wet exits, paddle strokes and rolling techniques in the pool class 7:45 to 9:45 p.m. Tuesdays. The Thursday class meets 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. and the first hour will be spent on techniques and the second hour on playing kayak water polo. Registration and payment are required. The cost is $10 per person, $3 for Y members.

Tai Chi for Arthritis

The Tai Chi for Arthritis class will combine agile steps, joint-safe exercises and mental strength to improve mobility, breathing and relaxation ways that will help you have greater control over your daily life. The class will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturdays Jan. 14 through March 17. Space is limited; registration and payment are required. The cost is $40 per person, free for Y members.
