Kenyon-Wanamingo slipped past the Zumbrota-Mazeppa boys basketball team Tuesday 69-66 in Kenyon.
Junior Lucas Ziemba led the Cougars with 19 points and three offensive rebounds. He had four total rebounds. Junior Nathaniel Rauen added 18 points, four rebounds and two steals. Matt Johnson scored 12 points and had three assists. Senior Devon Holtegaard contributed eight points and seven rebounds.
Derek Greseth scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead K-W. Zach Quaale tallied 11 points and six rebounds while Peder Sviggum finished with 10 points and four rebounds.
K-W led 28-27 at halftime and made 15 of 21 free throws to get the win. Both teams played a pretty clean game with Z-M committing 10 turnovers and K-W making 12 turnovers.
The Cougars went 27 of 62 from the field, 6 of 16 on 3-pointers, and 6 of 10 from the free-throw line.
Z-M travels to Dodge Center Thursday to face Triton.
