Basketball class is offered after school on Tuesdays for Burnside students. The class meets for four weeks from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. and costs $10. Students will work on fundamentals of the game and have fun playing some games too. Wear gym shoes. There is no class Feb 7.
The warming house at the Red Wing Athletic Field is open. Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 8 p.m. weekends. The warming house has skates available for use. Warming house hours are subject to change and are conditional on weather.
A new session of adult dance begins Jan 10 and runs 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays for four weeks in the Red Wing High School lower J pod. Dawn Anderson will cover Latin and ballroom dancing as well as other dances the group is interested in learning. Grab and partner and sign up. Cost is $25 per person. Wear comfortable clothing and no rubber-soled shoes.

Tae kwon do
A new session of tae kwon do will begin Jan 17. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at Red Wing High School in the lower H pod. Beginning students meet from 7 to 8 p.m. and advanced students meet from 8 to 9 p.m. Cost for 12-session classes is $40 and is open to anyone age 6 and older. Uniforms are required and available from instructor Randy Ash.
The Red Wing public schools are open before and after school for walking. All participants must register at the Community Rec office. You will receive an ID badge that must be worn while in the buildings. Walking hours vary by school and the schools are not open during non-school days including weather related closures. Cost is $5. The last day for walking in the schools is May 11.
