Darrell L. Johnson, 81

Darrell L. Johnson, 81, of Canton, Ga., passed away on Oct. 16 at the Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Ga.

Darrell was born Oct. 16, 1930, in Stanton, Iowa, the son of Leroy and Gertrude Johnson. After graduating from Red Wing High School in 1948, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 3 years. He married Donna Rosener Sept. 10, 1955. He graduated from Winona State College, Minn., in 1957.

He worked for Shell Oil for 33 years, retiring in 1990 in Marietta, Ga.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Susan and Rob Pech of Grayson, Ga.; brothers, Ron and Rose Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim and Irene Johnson of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Audrine Johnson of Cloquet, Minn., and Phyllis Johnson of Red Wing, Minn.

A memorial service was held on Oct. 22 at www.darbyfuneralhome.com. Family and friends are invited to a committal service to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the columbarium in Oakwood Cemetery.
