One dies in motorcycle crash

One man died Sunday after the motorcycle he was riding struck another motorcycle in Pierce County, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reports.

One man died Sunday after the motorcycle he was riding struck another motorcycle in Pierce County, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reports.

Ronald J. Bauman, 51, of Princeton, Minn., struck the back of a motorcycle being driven by Mark J. Schouviller, 50, also of Princeton, at about 3:45 p.m. Schouviller had been traveling northbound on 825th Street near U.S. Highway 63 in Trenton Township.

Bauman was transported by Red Wing Ambulance to Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. He was then airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he was pronounced dead.

Schouviller was not injured in the accident.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was called to do a reconstruction of the accident. The accident remains under investigation.

The Red Wing police Department, Red Wing Ambulance Service and the Ellsworth Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
