Bomber girls take fourth at P-E-M meet; Trost wins sixth meet

Cannon Falls sophomore Emi Trost continued her dominant season Tuesday with a win at the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Jodi Rahman Invitational in the 4-kilometer race at Piper Hills Golf Course in Plainview.

Cannon Falls sophomore Emi Trost continued her dominant season Tuesday with a win at the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Jodi Rahman Invitational in the 4-kilometer race at Piper Hills Golf Course in Plainview.

Trost finished the race in 14 minutes, 59 seconds and won by 25 seconds over Dover-Eyota/St. Charles’ Ahna Buntrock as the Bombers finished fourth as a team with 129 points. DE/SC won the meet with 32 points and placed all five runners in the top 10. P-E-M finished second with 65 points and Chatfield took third with 89 points.

Trost, the fifth-ranked runner in Class A, won her sixth meet of the season and has dropped her times by about 20 seconds this season.

Eighth-grader Emma Thomley finished 20th for Cannon Falls in 17:39.4, eighth-grader Katherine Hoffman placed 21st in 17:39.8, junior Amber Edwards finished 43rd in 18:39.6 and sophomore Ashleigh Dralle took 44th in 18:40.4.

Bombers boys finish 11th

The Cannon Falls boys team finished 11th with 284 points. Bjorn Pearson led the Bombers with a 44th-place finish in 19:44.2 in the 5-kilometer race. Karl Ritzman placed 54th in 20:09.1, Connor Rohr 60th in 20:27.9, Jordan Erlanson 62nd in 20:37.1, Tyler Wilson 64th in 20:39.

P-E-M, ranked seventh in Class A, won the meet with 41 points. Cotter took second with 44 and Byron placed third with 95 points.

Cannon Falls heads to La Crescent Oct. 19 for the Hiawatha Valley League conference meet.
