A juvenile riding bike out of the Kwik Trip parking lot onto Highway 61 collided with an eastbound vehicle around 3:20 p.m. today, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
Dean Griffin, 22, of Red Wing, was driving a Jeep Liberty in the left lane of the highway and was unable to see the juvenile because of a vehicle that was just ahead of him in the right lane, State Patrol said. The vehicle in the right lane was able to stop quickly enough to miss the bicyclist.
Police said the bicyclist was taken to Fairview Red Wing Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Red Wing Police Department and Red Wing Fire Department also responded to the scene.
