The Cannon Falls girls tennis team won its home tournament Saturday with three 8-0 victories.

The 10th-ranked Bombers (17-5, 5-1 HVL) won 8-0 against Le Sueur-Henderson, Albert Lea and Ellsworth.

“We had a great day,” Cannon Falls head coach Paul Norstad said. “I thought we played really well. The girls had a fun day and played some good tennis.”

Only one match went to a tiebreaker Saturday and the Bombers got the win there, too. Cannon Falls sophomores Kaesey Glaess and Hannah Boman won 5-7, 6-0, (10-2) at No. 3 doubles against LeSueur-Henderson.

“We had a couple other close sets, but the girls all played well,” Norstad said. “Not dropping a point is not easy and is a good sign that we are playing well right now.”

Bombers senior Erica Zimmerman went 3-0 on the day with a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Le Sueur-Henderson at No. 1 singles. Zimmerman won 7-5, 6-4 against Albert Lea and 6-1, 6-0 against Ellsworth.

The Panthers finished with three points for fourth place.
