The Red Wing girls tennis team picked up two wins Saturday at Eau Claire.

The Wingers beat Altoona 6-1 and Regis 5-2 in what head coach Randy Decker called important tuneup matches before the end of the regular season.

Red Wing has a match left with Shakopee, which will decide the conference title. If the Wingers beat Shakopee, which is also undefeated in conference play, they will clinch at least a share. Both teams have two matches remaining.

Red Wing moved some players around in different spots at the triangular. Decker moved Lexi Boek and Serena Feehan up to No. 3 doubles against Altoona and the pair came up with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Senior Marisa Toivonen had no trouble against Altoon’s Taylor Vanderwegen in a 6-1, 6-1 win.

Junior Katie Kelly and senior Bryn Christenson came up with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles while senior Nakia Fritz and junior Megan Clemons rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (6) win at No. 2 doubles. Eighth-grader Solveig Christenson and junior Kristen Anderson won at Nos. 3 and 4 singles, respectively. Christenson won 6-3, 6-4 and Anderson won 7-5, 6-4.

Against Regis, Red Wing picked up three doubles wins and two singles victories to win the match.

Toivonen and Feehan won at Nos. 1 and 4 singles. Feehan won one of three matches that required a tiebreaker. Feehan won 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (7).

Senior Bryn Christenson and junior Katie Kelly won a three-set match 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. Freshman Lauren Brooks and Clemons won 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (2).
