The Cannon Falls girls tennis team fell 5-2 Thursday to Rochester Lourdes in Cannon Falls.
The No. 1 doubles team of seniors Ashley Banitt and Kayla Anderson won 6-7(4-7), 6-4, 6-0 over Kristen Brandhagen and Rachel Morrice to give the Bombers one of their team points.
Sophomores Hannah Bowan and Kaesey Glaess added the other point for Cannon Falls at No. 3 doubles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Sydney Allison and Elizabeth Hart.
“It was a tough one,” Bombers head coach Paul Norstad said. “I think we had our chances at some spots but we just couldn’t pull them out.”
Senior Megan Ripley and junior Dana Stoll dropped a three-set match at No. 2 doubles while senior Allanah Kessler fell 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Junior Allie Serres fell 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and junior Samantha Modrak lost 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Cannon Falls plays in the Rochester John Marshall tournament Saturday.
