Bryce Vogt

Navy Reserve Petty Officer 1st Class Bryce A. Vogt is deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as part of Provincial Reconstruction Team Kunar.

Mountainous terrain, soaring temperatures, hostile forces and foreign culture face Provincial Reconstruction Team Kunar as they deploy to Afghanistan this summer. PRTs play a vital role in NATO's counter-insurgency and stabilization mission in Afghanistan. While conventional forces face the insurgent threat head-on, PRTs interface with local government and people to help them build their security and basic services.

The mission of PRT Kunar is to enhance the effectiveness of Afghan governance in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. The team mentors their Afghan partners at the local and regional levels to help develop relationships with the government and local people and build a trust that is vital to the future of Afghanistan.

Vogt is the son of Mark and Mary Vogt of Maple St., Nerstrand, Minn.
