Cannon Falls’ Emi Trost won the 38th annual Stewartville Cross Country Invitational Thursday at Bear Cave Park in Stewartville.
Trost won the shortened event with a time of 12 minutes, 19 seconds. The girls race was shortened due to heat concerns to 3,200 meters and the boys race was just 4,000 meters. Trost beat Dover-Eyota/St. Charles’ Ahna Buntrock by seven seconds. Bruntrock had won the event the past two years.
The Bombers girls team finished 11th overall with 261 points. Dover-Eyota/St. Charles won the meet with 44 points. Zumbrota-Mazeppa/Kenyon-Wanamingo placed seventh with 203 points.
The ZM/KW boys cross country team finished fourth overall with 134 points. Cotter won the meet with 24 points and placed four runners in the top 10.
La Crescent took second with 59 points, Byron finished third with 99 points.
