Taipale said this of his work: "Making art has been central to my life for as long as I can remember. As a young person, there were few endeavors that provided as much enjoyment and personal validation as my work in the arts. It seemed natural, therefore, that I chose to pursue a career in art when it became time to make that decision. Over the years, my creative efforts have been focused primarily on drawing and jewelry, with jewelry occupying most of my aesthetic energy during the past several years. I find silver a wonderful medium. It is simultaneously soft, flexible and strong, allowing abundant freedom of expression while adding its own intrinsic qualities to the process. I love the natural richness, warmth and malleability of silver, and enjoy combining it with other metals as well as wood, stone and other natural materials, including rocks found along the banks of the Mississippi. My jewelry designs are influenced as much by the materials themselves as my initial conceptions, and I frequently feel as though I am an observer of the process and the interaction of the materials and my hands. As such, my work is more a combination of intuition, awareness and opportunity than a conscious design process."
The Abode Gallery is located at N2030 Spring St. in Stockholm.
