Cannon Golf Club member advances to amateur championship

Robert Snyder of Cannon Golf Club qualified for the 108th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship by tying for ninth at the qualifying event held at Highland National Golf Course.

He shot a 2-over-par 74 at the St. Paul course Thursday. Snyder was one of 14 golfers in the 84-person field to qualify.

The championship will be July 18-20 at White Bear Yacht Club.
