Golf: Giorgi qualifies for State Open
Red Wing’s Mark Giorgi earned a berth in the Minnesota State Open by tying for 10th at the Ridges at Sand Creek qualifying event.
Red Wing’s Mark Giorgi earned a berth in the Minnesota State Open by tying for 10th at the Ridges at Sand Creek qualifying event. Giorgi fired a 3-over-par 75 (37-38) at the Jordan, Minn., course on June 29.
He was one of 15 to qualify for the state championship, which will be held July 22-24 at Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove, Minn. Giorgi also has qualified for the Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship.
Giorgi will be a junior at St. John’s in Collegeville, Minn., in the fall.
