Bay City won a tight contest Saturday afternoon in Bay City, beating the Expos of Elmwood.
Tony Schultz's complete-game effort proved to be the difference maker as he kept Elmwood off balance throughout. He scattered seven hits and struck out eight. Both runs that he gave up were earned.
Elmwood didn't put up any threats as the game wound down, either. The Expos didn't have a single baserunner from the sixth inning until two outs into the ninth inning.
"I was pretty familiar with their lineup," Schultz said. "I had a game plan to keep their hitters off balance."
Hayden Flack led the Bombers at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs. His two-out, RBI double in the seventh broke the game open for Bay City.
Blake Schammel went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
Bay City improved to 3-5 overall with the win.
