The Bears squandered a strong outing by Cory Hedeen and lost at home Sunday. Hedeen pitched the first six innings and allowed two runs. Cannon Falls led 3-2 when he left the game.

"He threw great," Cannon Falls player/manager Keith Meyers said. "We couldn't score."

Aaron Stein came on in relief, but he got just one out and gave up two runs before giving way to Meyers. Luke Winchell came in to pitch the ninth and gave up three runs to suffer the loss; however, pitching wasn't the Bears' only problem.

They didn't get a bunt down, they dropped a ball in the outfield and a ball went through the second baseman's legs.

"We were mixing a lot of guys on Sunday, but that's no excuse," Meyers said. "We didn't do the little things."

Cannon Falls dropped to 6-8 overall and 2-4 in the Classic Cannon Valley League. It is back in action today when it kicks off its home tournament against Hastings.

"We've hit all singles this year," Meyers said. "We need to start hitting some doubles and stop leaving so many runners on base."
