The Lakers' first three batters struck out looking and that proved to be a sign of things to come Tuesday in the Division 4 regional. Pepin struck out 13 times -- including six times looking -- as it lost on the road.
Pepin finished with three hits while McDonell Central pounded out 15 hits.
"They were good hitters," Pepin coach Eric Bjork said. "I just think our lack of hitting made us get beat as bad as we did."
Chris Suilmann pitched the first six innings for the Macks, registering 12 strikeouts and two walks.
Jake Lerum pitched six innings for Pepin and allowed eight earned runs. He struck out two and didn't walk a batter.
Pepin finished the season with a 7-11 record.
