Eric Meyer singled home Joe Robinson in the top of the ninth off Jared Woodward and that was all the Cardinals would need Monday to beat the Bears in Cannon Falls.

Cory Hedeen started for the Bears and held Hampton scoreless for all eight innings he was on the mound. Hedeen allowed five hits, struck out five and walked three. However, he didn’t receive any support.

The Bears managed a total of four hits off Hampton starter Jardy Marks (two innings) and reliever Dave Sampson (seven innings).

Jamie Stay had Cannon Falls’ best day at the plate, going 2-for-3.

Cannon Falls dropped to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in the Classic Cannon Valley League.
