Dan Venn pitched six scoreless innings to lead the Bears to a home victory Friday over the Minneapolis Angels.
"He was excellent," Cannon Falls outfield Shane Hedeen said. "He hit his spots. He was great. He scattered some singles. That was it."
The Angels managed six hits off Venn, who got the win. He struck out three and walked one.
The Bears provided Venn with some early run support by scoring one in the first and two in the third.
Hedeen said Cannon Falls hitters came through with the timely hitting they were not able to deliver Wednesday in a 12-5 loss to Prescott.
Nick Nobach and Ryan Brintnall each hit a sacrifice fly Friday.
After the Angels scored two in the seventh and one in the eighth to close within one, Keith Meyers came in to pitch a scoreless ninth and pick up the save.
Cannon Falls improved to 5-4 overall. Its next game is slated to start at 6:05 p.m. Sunday in Dundas.
