A week after winning only three matches in a loss to the Ramblers, Lake City got revenge Monday in the Section 1A team tournament quarterfinals.

Coleman Sweeney has had a rough season, according to Lake City coach Dave Toole, but he earned the clinching win with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Jong Hoo Park at No. 3 singles.

"He was finally smiling," Toole said of Sweeney. "It was so nice to see him smile."

Sweeney, Cameron Ender (No. 2 singles) and the team of Alex McCormick and Cort McElmury (No. 2 doubles) won Monday after losing to Cotter Schools on May 16.

Lake City advanced to play either top-seeded St. Paul Academy and Summit School or No. 8 St. Paul Humboldt at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Rochester Athletic Club.
