Lake City struggled to find a groove Saturday afternoon against K-M starter Chris Acker. The Tigers only managed four hits against the junior and made three errors on their home field.
"We really struggled with clutch hits to get things going," Lake City coach Perry Iberg said. "We just couldn't get that hit to drive 'em in."
Lake City had decent opportunities in the fifth and sixth innings by getting multiple runners on base but failed to come through.
Reid Lundell suffered the loss for the Tigers. He went five innings and gave up four earned runs on seven hits and five strikeouts.
Lundell went 2-for-3 at the plate and teammate Dylan Simonic finished 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
Lake City (6-11 overall, 5-6 in Hiawatha Valley League) hosts Zumbrota-Mazeppa at 5 p.m. on Monday.
