The Tigers shot a 346 to finish fifth at the Hiawatha Valley League Conference championship Thursday at Northern Hills Golf Club in Rochester. Rochester Lourdes finished first with a score of 298.
Jack Falvey, who earned all-conference honors for Lake City, shot a team-best 81.
"Jack was definitely our leader today," Lake City coach Luther Berkeland said. “He came through when we need him."
Falvey was also the lone Tigers golfer who competed in the same event last year, according to Berkeland.
"Next year, I hope we'll have six returning veterans and can finish in the top three. That's our goal," Berkeland said.
Cannon Falls came in 12th (402) and Zumbrota-Mazeppa (406) finished one spot behind the Bombers.
Matt Moskal, who shot a 93, led Cannon Falls. Teammate Kyle Peters also cracked 100, shooting a 98.
Isaac Leonard was the lone Z-M golfer to score below 100. The freshman fired an 88.
Lake City's next competition is May 27 at the Section 1AA tournament at Eastwood Golf Course in Rochester.
