Both teams started Thursday's game slow, but turned up the offense in the later innings.

Pepin, the home team, took the lead for good by scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

"(Our) bats could have been a little warmer," Pepin coach Eric Bjork said. "It seems like one thing or another. Either our bats (are) cold or we are error-prone."

The Lakers committed just one error. In Pepin's last game, it tallied five errors.

Adam Baader earned the victory for the Lakers (6-10 overall, 5-5 Dunn-St. Croix).

He struck out five and walked one in a complete-game win. He went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and a stolen base.

Pepin travels to Mondovi on Monday.
