The Blue Devils managed just four hits in Monday's road loss, but Plum City coach Kevin Mueller said the statistics didn't tell the full story.

"They made a couple great defensive plays that kept three runs off the board minimum," said Mueller, adding, "We hit the ball pretty hard. They just didn't find a hole."

Ryan Gillman had the most productive day at the plate for the Blue Devils. He went 2-for-3 with a double.

"He had a really nice game," Mueller said. "He's starting to really play better. He's getting his confidence back."

Plum City dropped to 1-9 overall and 1-7 in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference. The Blue Devils play at Pepin on Tuesday.
