The Wildcats committed five errors and lost on the road Monday.

One of the most costly errors came in the bottom of the fifth inning when Goodhue dropped a ball that would have been the third out. Hayfield scored twice after the miscue.

Senior Anne Lodermeier suffered the loss. She gave up all 11 runs over six innings, but only six of the runs were earned. Lodermeier struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.

Goodhue had a productive day at the plate, tallying 10 hits and drawing 12 walks; however, it failed to take advantage of all those base runners.

"Getting the big hit in the big situation where we need it - we've come up a little short on that," Wildcats coach Chris Irvin said.

Goodhue dropped to 1-6 overall and in the Hiawatha Valley League. Its next game is Thursday at Triton. The following day it plays host to Cannon Falls and then Randolph in a doubleheader.
