Area track and field: E-PC girls first, boys second

The Elmwood-Plum City girls won the seven-team Boyceville invite by scoring 134 points.

The Elmwood-Plum City girls won the seven-team Boyceville invite by scoring 134 points.

Heather Von Holtum took first in the 400-meter dash (1 minute, 4.7 seconds) and she was on the victorious 4x200 relay team with classmate Marah Boyer (1:53.8).

Von Holtum, Boyer and classmate Sarah Gilles won the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:29.

Abbie Hartung and Elaina Danzinger were the two Plum City students on the victorious 4x800 team (11:11.8). Plum City's Morgan Sweeney took second in the 1,600 with a time of 6:24.47.

The boys team finished second to St. Croix Central with 122 points.

Alex Gilles of Plum City won the 200 (23.8) and the 400 (53.4). Classmate Tyler Churchill won the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.9. He also won the triple jump with a leap of 38 feet, 5 inches.

Gabe Rodriguez was the lone Plum City student on the 4x200 team that took first place (1:38.5). Churchill, Lawton Radle and Chase Lanz helped E-PC earn first place in the 4x400. They crossed the finish line in 3:41.2.
