The Wildcats misplayed a fly ball in the fifth inning of Monday's home game that led to two runs.

"(We) made one mistake that cost us big in the end," Goodhue coach Eric Schofield said.

The game was tied at 3 prior to that inning.

Goodhue had two on with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but the Wildcats managed to plate just one runner.

"It was a good rally in the end," Schofield said.

Brian Strauss, the losing pitcher, went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Kyle Diercks knocked in two runs on a double.

Goodhue (0-5 overall) travels to Pine Island on Tuesday.
