ELLSWORTH -- The Panthers had a breakout performance at the plate in an 11-2 victory over New Richmond.
Ellsworth tallied 14 hits and six players turned in multi-hit performances Thursday at Summit Park.
“Hopefully this is a sign of things to come,” Ellsworth coach Ryan Casper said.
Senior Kayla Christopherson broke out of a slump by going 3-for-4 with an RBI triple and three runs scored.
“She hit the heck out of the ball tonight, which is good to see,” junior Halle Hatch said.
Fellow senior Becca Chollett reached base in all four of her plate appearances. She tallied three hits, two RBI and three runs scored.
“We do have a solid lineup all the way though,” Casper said. “There’s really no holes.”
Ellsworth, which is 4-1 overall and the Middle Border Conference, has been led by the pitching of Hatch. On Thursday, she allowed five hits and just one walk. Both of New Richmond’s runs were unearned.
“Halle’s been carrying us,” Casper said.
