Flood predictions mild
With less rain than anticipated falling during the weekend, river level predictions have receded. The National Weather Service has predicted a second crest of the Mississippi River at 14.8 feet Thursday at Red Wing. Water levels are expected to go down again next weekend, although rain and possibly some snow in the weather forecast for Friday could affect river levels.

The water had reached 14.48 feet as of Tuesday morning; flood stage is 14 feet. Rising water closed Levee Road between Bay Point Park and Pottery Pond on Tuesday, a closure expected to last through the weekend.
Levee Road, Ikata Drive, East Fifth Street by Barn Bluff, Colvill Park and most of Bay Point Park remain closed. Depending on water levels, the remainder of Bay Point Park could be closed Wednesday.
