Area track and field: Plum City girls take fourth, boys 11th

Despite not winning a single event, the Elmwood-Plum City girls finished in fourth place out of 16 teams at the Wisconsin-Stout invitational. The girls scored 57 points.
Marah Boyer took third in both the high jump (4 feet, 8 inches) and the long jump (14 feet, 9 1/2 inches) Saturday.
The 4 x 200 relay team took third place with a time of 1 minute, 58.06 seconds. Sarah Gilles was the lone Plum City member of the 4 x 200 team.
The boys team scored 26 points and finished in 11th place out of 19 teams. Alex Gilles was the lone medalist. He won the 800 with a time of 2:11.1.
“I thought they competed well,” Plum City coach Rick Stewart said of both the girls and boys. “I was pleased with the results.”
