The Eagles outscored Whitehall 39-27 in the first half Saturday and held on to win the second-place game in the Dairyland Conference tournament.

P-A coach Larry Grisen called it "probably the best half of the season."

Whitehall was able to stay in the game at Eleva-Strum because the Eagles struggled to knock down free throws in the second half. P-A finished the game 15 of 30 from the line.

"We were fortunate to come away with the win," Grisen said.

Sophia Reidt led P-A with 16 points and Ali Murray added 15.

The Eagles finished the regular season with a 15-5 record. They are a No. 2 seed in the Division 5 regionals and play host to No. 7 Cochrane-Fountain City Tuesday in Pepin.
