Boys swimming and diving: Carlson in sixth after prelims

Red Wing senior Travis Carlson is in sixth place after the Class A boys diving preliminaries. He scored 205.65 points Thursday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Jon Melgaard, a Detroit Lakes senior, is in first place with 301.85 points.
The swimming preliminaries are slated for today and finals for both swimming and diving will take place Saturday.
A message left for Wingers diving coach Carrie Hansen was not returned.
