Snowmobile racing means lots of practice, travel and time, but for Ian and Colin Johnson, it also means a chance to take what they love about the sport to the extreme. “I like the speed,” Ian said. “I like to go fast.”

Ian, 9, and Colin, 6, have been riding snowmobiles for most of their lives, whether on their own or with their parents, Hal and Cherie. Both boys took up racing at a young age — even after Ian’s first experience driving solo.

The boys will race in Lake City on Feb. 19, the first local race they’ve had since they started competing.
