Independence had two chances to win Tuesday's game in Pepin in the final 10 seconds, but P-A escaped with the victory.

Trailing by a point, Independence had the ball with 10 seconds left. The Eagles got a stop and Jacob Lerum grabbed the rebound. He was fouled with 1.7 seconds to play, but missed the front end of a 1-and-1. Independence grabbed the rebound and threw a long pass, but it failed to get a shot off.

P-A coach Loren Mueller praised Charlie Raethke for scoring all four of his points in the fourth quarter and adding four rebounds off the bench.

"Our bench players in general are really starting to contribute a lot more," Mueller said.

The Eagles' reserves combined for 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Dustin Huber led P-A with 13 points. He also paced the team with six rebounds.

P-A (5-11 overall, 4-7 Small Dairyland Conference) is at Spring Valley on Saturday.
