Youth sports: Red Wing swimmers bring home time standards, hardware

Members of the Red Wing Swim Club left the Frostbite Frenzy with 81 awards and medals. The event was held Jan. 29-30 in Hudson, Wis.
Competing in the 11- to 12-year-old division, Ingrid Olson achieved a zone time in the 50-yard freestyle and a champion time in the 100 backstroke. She also placed first in the 50 breaststroke with an "A" cut time.
TJ McBryde, Kelly Colwell and Claire King also each won a race in the 11-12 division. McBryde posted a champion time in the 50 free and won the 200 free at the "B" level.
Colwell won the 100 breaststroke at the "B" level and King took first in the 50 free at the "B" level.
In the 9-10 division, Carly Boisen placed second in the 100 free and achieved an "A" standard time. Jayden Jech won the 50 free in same age group at the "B" level.
In the 8-and-under division, Nick Bayley took first place in the 50-yard backstroke and the 100 individual medley at the "B" level.
The team is back in action from Friday through Sunday for an "A" meet in Rochester.
