After first round interviews this week, the Red Wing School Board will invite two candidates for the superintendent position back for a second interview. The board chose Karsten Anderson and Virginia Dahlstrom as finalists, following the final interview Wednesday afternoon. The official approval of these finalists will come in the board’s regular meeting on Monday.
Anderson is the current superintendent of Watertown-Mayer Public Schools and has 13 years experience as a superintendent. Dahlstrom is the current superintendent at Wadena-Deer Creek and has three years of superintendent experience.
Chairwoman Heidi Jones says while all candidates were “solid,” Anderson and Dahlstrom “make sense to (her).”
Board member Paul Kramp agrees. “Both candidates would fit well with the community,” he said.
A board workshop will be held at 4:15 p.m. Monday to determine questions to be asked in the second round of interviews. Those interviews will be held Feb. 15 and 16.
The board conducted interviews with five candidates Tuesday and Wednesday.
