Area dance team: Bombers win high kick

The Bombers won the high kick competition Saturday in Marshall, Minn., with the highest scores they have recorded all year.

“We made lots of changes this week to up our difficulty and it showed (in our higher scores),” Cannon Falls coach Carrie Pommier said, adding that her team received just under 80 points per judge.

The Bombers took third in the jazz competition. B O L D won the event while Yellow Medicine East came in second. Pommier estimated that 14 teams participated in high kick and 12 to 15 performed jazz routines.

“It was a talented field in both jazz and kick and I’m very pleased with how we placed in both,” Pommier said. “I think that it was a wonderful showing for all our dancers.”
