Red Wing firefighters doused a house fire within 30 minutes Christmas Eve.

The department received the 911 call at 6:38 p.m. Friday that a house at 1862 Edoka St. was burning.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived within 11 minutes and found heavy smoke streaming from the single-story structure, Capt. Scott Danielson said in a press release.

Firefighters entered the home and extinguished the fire within 30 minutes, he said.

No one was injured, but the house suffered extensive fire, smoke and water damage. Residents, who were not identified, were offered housing assistance at Treasure Island Resort & Casino, according to Red Wing Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
