Cross-country: Leitner leads Red Wing at Heartland Regional

Christian Leitner's fourth-place finish at the Nike Cross Country Nationals Heartland Regional in Sioux Falls, S.D., helped the Red Wing A boys team finish in sixth place.
Leitner, a junior, finished Sunday's race at Yankton Trial Park in 16 minutes, 42.39 seconds.
Senior Max Christensen was the next Red Wing runner to cross the finish line. He took 15th place in 17:19.51. Ben Tittle, a senior, took 36th in 17:37.06 while Isaac Wyland, also a senior, placed 57th (17:59.34). Jordy Hassemer was the final Red Wing runner with a time counting for the team total. He took 110th in 18:55.07.
Senior Bryant Blahnik finished in 47th place in the championship race with a time of 16:20.
Sophomore Kelsee Anderson was the highest Red Wing finisher in the girls open race. She ran the race in 20:18 and took fifth place. Freshman Lindsay Scribner took 15th place in 20:47 while junior Cori Fairbanks crossed the finish line in 40th place (21:37).
The Red Wing B boys team took 24th of 31 total teams. Senior Kristian Anderson was the team's top finisher. He took 119th with a time of 19:08.03.
