Letter: Voters picked right man, Bryant

To the Editor:
When I read “Bryant wins District 4” (R-E Nov. 3) I was appalled. I feel even more so now that every citizen that voted for Jim Bryant made the right decision for our county.
Paul Reese said in the article that he did not understand why voters opted to re-elect Jim Bryant. I point out just a few attributes that I believe are important to be instilled in our county commissioners: honesty, integrity, dignity, humble, good listener and communicator.
Jim has years of evidence that show he clearly understands the meaning and importance of making an informed decision. Jim has proven his ability to educate himself before making decisions that affect the county. Jim has proven his loyalty and dedication to citizens. I know Jim will continue to do so throughout the years that he serves as our elected commissioner for District 4.
Reese owes Jim and citizens of the county an apology. He not only insulted his opponent but I feel he insulted every citizen that cast a vote for Jim Bryant.
Reese showed lack of judgment and control when he made the insults against Jim. I would never opt to vote for a person who reacted so poorly after defeat.
Reese needs to understand that the citizens elected Jim Bryant.
Since Reese cannot accept and respect the voice and choice of Goodhue County citizens, how could he possibly represent us?
