What are the most important issues in your race, and how do you plan to address them?
This year, getting people back to work in Wisconsin is our most important goal. There is a broad range of things that need to be done to accomplish that.
I would promote tax incentives that encourage people to invest and hire in Wisconsin. We need to create more clean energy here so that we can keep more of our money and jobs in the state.
Also, we need more affordable health care options so that businesses can afford more employees. Workers need to be supported and have access to training and education for new occupations.
How is your experience — or lack of experience — in the public and private sectors, a plus or minus for the job?
During my campaign, I have knocked on hundreds of doors and made hundreds of phone calls. One thing is clear: People aren’t looking for a career politician. They are looking for someone who understands the day-to-day challenges and rewards of real working families.
I have spent my entire career working in small businesses. I have seen firsthand how government involvement and regulation can both help and hinder a business. I have calloused hands and know what it means to work hard. I am ready to work just as hard for the families and businesses of western Wisconsin.
