St. Joseph's School Notes

Updates from St. Joseph's School.

Preschool

Students studied the letter "E." Students are also doing Halloween activities. On Friday, they took a community service field trip to Seminary Home.

Grade 1

First-graders will join second-graders for a multi-week unit on plants and seeds. They will be observing, journaling, sorting and classifying seeds and leaves. In math, they continue building knowledge of partners and studying numbers 8, 9 and 10.

Grade 2

Second-graders will begin their plant unit with the first-grade class. They will carry this topic over to language arts where they will read about "nature spies" and focus on details. They prepared for Halloween with a writing project about "wild things."

Computer class

In computer class students continue practicing typing skills.

Music

Students learned dynamics (the louds and softs in music) with two Italian words piano and forte.

Field trip

Mrs. Runquist's class participated in the DASH program at the Goodhue County History Center on Oct. 25.
