To the Editor:
It has been an honor to serve you — the men and women of Minnesota’s 2nd District — for the past eight years. I feel privileged to represent your views and values in Washington and ensure your voice is part of the debate about the many issues facing our nation.
I have heard your concerns about the fiscal irresponsibility of the current Congress, and I am committed to putting an end to wasteful government spending and embracing economic policies that will grow Minnesota’s economy and put people back to work.
Perhaps the most rewarding element of my job, however, happens right here at home. Whether helping facilitate the adoption of a child from overseas, clearing bureaucratic red tape so someone can receive their passport in time for an important trip, awarding a long-overdue medal to a veteran of our armed forces, or helping a family plan their first visit to Washington, I am grateful for every opportunity to provide direct assistance to the men and women in our district.
In the past year, I was particularly glad to be able to connect out-of-work Minnesotans with employers and job training assistance at my career and jobs fair. I was proud to recognize the outstanding generosity and acts of service of Minnesotans of all ages at my “Star of the North” ceremony. And I am pleased to play a role in helping local groups learn of and obtain grants for which they are eligible.
Thank you for the chance to serve you — in Washington — and right here at home. On this Election Day, I hope you will give me the honor of continuing to work for you for another two years.
John Kline
