Letter: John Sachen asks Ward 1-2 voters for support

To the Editor:

Much has been said about my campaign in the paper these past weeks. I marvel at how issues have been exaggerated and twisted to represent someone’s point of view.

I will remain focused on these key points which pertain to Red Wing’s future.

• Stress economic development: We need to work with all agencies to promote with one voice Red Wing’s key attributes and benefits for new businesses. It is imperative to promote and focus on existing business year round.

• Assure fiscal responsibility: Successful communities are finding ways to meet their financial challenges without raising taxes. I will focus on what is important to Red Wing and support it in a responsible manner. We cannot accept a “Business as Usual” mentality.

•Create open and transparent government: It is my nature to talk straight and let you know what I am considering as I listen to your concerns and ideas.

• Sustain the quality of life we enjoy: It is important to me that we respect the values of preservation whether it pertains to our infrastructure, public services, public safety, our natural resources and our historic sites.

If you believe as I do that these four items are critical to our future, I ask you for your support. Please vote Nov. 2.
