Letter: Kelly committed to leadership

To the Editor:

Over the last several weeks I have had the opportunity to attend the political forums that give us all the chance to evaluate specific candidates. I have watched the sheriff race with interest and have witnessed the line drawn in the sand by both candidates.

Scott McNurlin has stated several times that the sheriff’s role is purely administrative while Marty Kelly has suggested that it is a leadership role.

I believe those statements themselves reveal much about the direction these individuals would take the county.

It has always made me proud to be able to call Marty my brother and I can speak directly to his impeccable integrity and character.

He has spent his entire law enforcement career protecting the citizens of this community.

If you would like to see that type of commitment and leadership in the Sheriff’s Office, please vote for Marty on Nov. 2.
