Letter: Hove helps foster cooperation

Putting facts side by side is needed to glean candidates’ true intentions.

To the Editor:

Putting facts side by side is needed to glean candidates’ true intentions.

John Sachen equivocated on the easement to save our riverfront at the League of Women Voters forum.

Dean Hove was unequivocal in his support.

In the R-E Oct. 13, candidates were asked what should be cut from the budget. Sachen offered no specifics. Hove did, including selling the golf course. Sachen said he would consider new user fees to park downtown and at boat ramps. Hove was against new fees, saying we need to “stay the current fiscal course with no new taxes.”

After sifting through all the campaign rhetoric, Hove has presented a clear message of lower taxes, meaningful spending reduction, and strong support for public safety.

Dean has fostered an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation between City Council and citizens. Dean is our most helpful City Council member.

We should keep Dean Hove working for us.
