Letter: Hove supports open government

Dean and Teresa Hove have been my neighbors for 10 years. They are the most caring people I know.

To the Editor:

Dean and Teresa Hove have been my neighbors for 10 years. They are the most caring people I know. When my husband passed away this year, the Hoves were supportive. Their kindness and generosity will always be remembered.

Dean’s election ushered in a new era of responsive, open government.

Craig R. Weber's line of reasoning (R-E, Oct. 9) points to the out-of-touch, authoritarian City Council members who made decisions without our knowledge or consent and forced us to near civil disobedience to save our riverfront.

Hove’s decisions are a reflection of our voices — voices that would be silenced if Weber's depiction of a leader stubbornly sticking to top-down, unpopular decisions is what we would get from John Sachen.
